How to bring a CDN I've subscribed to into the platform?

If you already subscribed to a CDN outside of VNIS, you can bring this CDN as ‘Custom CDN’, and use it along with other CDNs to take advantage of the Smart Load Balancing feature for the best performance and availability for your domain.

Navigate to ' Marketplace' > 'Custom CDN', and you'll see all the available options you have.

There are a couple of custom CDN presets available already, if there is a preset for the CDN you would like to bring to the VNIS platform, you can select it and start the configuration.

You need to select which of your domains on VNIS you would like to install this custom CDN, then fill in the CNAME of that CDN.

Once done, hit 'Install' to install this custom CDN on your selected domain. You can check the status on the 'Installed Power-Ups' section.

Adding a custom CDN from scratch (Non-preset Custom CDN - Enterprise only)

If you cannot find a preset for your CDN, click the 'Add custom CDN' button just below the ‘Custom CDN’ Header.

Here, you can create a new preset by filling the following fields:

  • Custom CDN name: Give this preset a name, you can simply fill it with the CDN's name (e.g. Incapsula) or just give it a random name
  • Reference URL/path: A resource/path that's currently using the CDN you're intending to bring to the platform. This helps the system identify which CDN you're referring to (e.g. https://sample.example.com/img/r20.gif)

The reference URL file size should not exceed more than 20 kb.

  • Introduction: Give this preset an introduction.

If you're done, hit 'Create', then you will have to select which of your domains on VNIS you would like to install this custom CDN, and fill in the CNAME of that CDN.

Once done, hit 'Install' to install this custom CDN on your selected domain. You can check the status on the 'Installed Power-Ups' section.
