How to switch between Static data feed and Dynamic data feed?

To obtain data and actionable insights targeted to improve the performance of your static website or dynamic website, you need to collect and monitor data from the appropriate.

It is recommended to collect and monitor performance data from the static data feed in order to have data more suitable for static websites. On the other hand, it is recommended to collect and monitor performance data from the dynamic data feed in order to have data more suitable for dynamic websites.

This article will show you how to switch the user’s data feed in order to collect and monitor performance data more suitable for either static websites or dynamic websites.

To switch the data feed, navigate to ‘ DEM’ > ‘Data Feeds’.

You need to set the target domain from the ‘ Operation level panel’.

Below are the 2 data feeds that are available for switching:

  • Static Data Feed: This data feed collects data from the content delivery network, hence more suitable for gathering insights for static websites. 
  • Dynamic Data Feed: This data feed collects data from the dynamic delivery network, hence more suitable for gathering insights for dynamic websites.

Static Data Feed

Select ‘Static’ to collect data from the content delivery network for your domain. 

After that, the system will collect static data from the community data pool (hence the name, ‘Community static data’) of all the installed CDN of your domain.

The collected static data will be automatically used by the Smart Load Balancer to decide the best CDN. And the insights will be presented in the DEM Analytics.

Dynamic Data Feed

Select ‘Dynamic’ to collect data from the dynamic delivery network for your domain. 

After that, the system will collect dynamic data from the community data pool (hence the name ‘Community dynamic data’) of the origin of your domain through a specific CDN of your domain.

The collected dynamic data will be automatically used by the Smart Load Balancer to decide the best CDN. And the insights will be presented in the DEM Analytics.
